Slamcore Aware Kit

The Slamcore Aware product provides a fully contained solution for the Real-Time Localisation System (RTLS) needs of your material handling facilities.

One Slamcore Aware device is installed per mobile vehicle, where each device is made of two main component parts:

1. Slamcore Aware compute unit.

   • Overview: This is a custom compute unit containing a NVIDIA® Jetson Orin Nano™.

   • Additional info:

     • The Slamcore Aware software is preinstalled onto the compute unit.
     • One compute unit is required per Slamcore Aware device.

2. Slamcore Aware sensor unit.

   • Overview: This contains two camera sensors arranged as a stereo pair, and an IMU sensor.

     • At least one Slamcore Aware sensor unit is required per Slamcore Aware device.

The Slamcore Aware device is designed to be mounted on any type of industrial vehicle that requires positional tracking. The compute and sensor units are designed as separate modules for ease of mounting and replacement of a sensor unit without requiring extraction of the whole device, allowing for easy maintenance of the device for long term deployment in harsh industrial environments.

Slamcore also presents a simple commissioning process to align the Slamcore Aware system to the facility floor plan for ease of use and integration with existing systems. We do so by installing a set of unique marker boards as key landmarks in the facility which are detected and mapped by Slamcore Aware software for the alignment process.

Preparation for installation

The deployment facility sites are required to prepare and provide the following items for installation:

1. A suitable power source for each Slamcore Aware device (see Power Requirements).
2. Suitable mounts for mounting the sensor(s) and compute unit to a vehicle (see Mounting Guide).
3. A digital and printed copy of the facility floor plan - Used for marker board setup, mapping route planning and map <-> floor plan alignment.
