Power Requirements

This section goes through the power options for Slamcore Aware devices. Before mounting the devices, please familiarize yourself with this section.

External Power

  • (Option A) It is recommended that the Slamcore Aware device is powered by the vehicle power supply in a permanent installation.
  • (Option B) Power can also be temporarily provided from an external portable battery in the case of trials and testing.

External power may be provided directly from the vehicle power supply (recommended) or using a portable battery (for temporary installations).

Sufficient power must be provided to the device to meet the Power Consumption (Max). For example if a 12V power supply is used, it must be capable of providing at least 3 Amps.

Power cable

  • A power cable is shipped with each Slamcore Aware device.
  • The power cable is available as an accessory from Slamcore.
  • It is the responsibility of the customer to connect this cable to the vehicle power supply correctly.

Normally vehicle power circuits are already fused, so that adding an additional fuse will be unnecessary. If this is not the case, then this can be achieved with an in-line automotive fuse.
